The Fred Buglass Award was instigated in 2002 using funds from the Fred Buglass Legacy. Fred lived in Leverstock Green for 45 years until his death in 1998 at the age of 93. Fred Buglass was responsible for the formation of LGVA in 1962 and a Life President.
The award recognises the people in the village who, by their actions, help make this a nice place to live and a community to proud of; and who contribute positively to the village. It is for anyone who contributes significantly to the Leverstock Green community. A Youth Award was initiated in April 2003.
Award Criteria:
a) Be resident in Leverstock Green Village Association’s area of benefit, or
b) Have their permanent place of employment with the Leverstock Green area of benefit, or
c) Be actively contributing to the Leverstock Green Village Association’s area of benefit.
a) Have worked to help the local community.
b) Have made a major contribution to the life of the village community.
c) Have helped promote the identity of Leverstock Green as a village community.
d) Have made a major contribution towards conserving or improving the environment of Leverstock Green.
